Over six decades, it has gained the admiration of the Metroplex for the high quality of its presentations. Dallas Chamber Music, next to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, is the second oldest civic music organization in Dallas.

Have the finest touring ensembles of the world given concerts?
Most of the great trios, quartets, quintets and mixed chamber ensembles have been heard at our concerts, among them the Amadeus, Bartok, Borodin, Budapest, Emerson, Guarneri, Juilliard, and Petersen quartets; the Altenberg, Beaux Arts, Fontenay, Haydn and Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson trios; the octets of the Berlin Philharmonic and St Martin in the Fields; plus a number of chamber orchestras. The list goes on and on.

What is the story behind the Ginastera commission?
In collaboration with the Friends of the Dallas Public Library, Dallas Chamber Music commissioned the Third Quartet (plus voice) of Alberto Ginastera. The work was premiered by the Juilliard Quartet and Benita Valenti in 1974 to an overflow audience and national reviews.
