MUIR STRING QUARTET

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2012

LAURA BUSH, HONORARY CHAIR

Dallas Chamber Music will host a special concert featuring pianist Condoleezza Rice and the Muir String Quartet on Sunday, February 12, 2012. Mrs. Laura Bush will serve as Honorary Chair.

Condoleezza Rice began music lessons at the age of three, and at 15, she performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor with the Denver Symphony Orchestra. She entered the University of Denver as a music major, ultimately switching to political science. In 1993, while provost at Stanford University, she turned her attention again to the piano and started lessons with faculty member George Barth. Dr. Rice performed with Yo-Yo Ma at Constitution Hall in 2002, played a recital for the Queen of England at Buckingham Palace in 2008, and in 2010, joined Aretha Franklin for a performance in Philadelphia’s Mann Music Centre.

All proceeds from this special concert benefit Dallas Chamber Music. Seating is limited and this promises to be a spectacular event!
